While switching up bedding can be done, a more inexpensive way of achieving the same idea is to add a solid blanket to the foot of your bed. This way, you can break up the usual pattern of your bed.
Psychedelic. Okay, so in the sixties and seventies, there were reasons for glow in the dark, psychedelic paint and black lights, though these excuses were usually less than savory and not entirely legal. Today, though, the bright T-shirts and posters have returned, with many individuals covering walls with glow in the dark designs and even painting whole walls in psychedelic paint, installing black lights in their recreation rooms or game rooms for entertainment purposes. This retro design option, coupled with disco lights that are more reminiscent of the late seventies, can really take you back to "the day"', especially if you put in the right music!
A lot of decorators discourage painting an entire room, especially for small rooms. Instead, try adding simple touches to the room. For example, you can incorporate art to add color instead of paint. Or you could choose to buy a simple border (wallpaper) for the top of your wall. You can also choose various room accents and different ways to paint the room. Try different brush techniques such as sponge accents, which use less paint.
When selecting a mirror for your bedroom or when adding them to the room, don't overlook the other uses a mirror has. Mirrors are a great decorating tool. Not only will they make a small room appear larger, they can also compensate for a lack of windows and the absence of natural light.
